OUR COMPANY
AGAR BRASILEIRO is a Brazilian seaweed production and development company. We focus on farming, harvesting, processing and supplying seaweeds for hydrocolloid production, as well as for edible seaweed products. We have been working with seaweeds for more than 40 years along the Northeast coast of Brazil. Our seaweeds are farmed and harvested from several people living in coastal communities, usually fishermen and their families. Farming, harvesting and processing practices are responsible, eco-friendly and sustainable, favoring the preservation of the natural resources and environment. The main seaweed species we work with are Gracilaria, Kappaphycus, Hypnea and Gigartina.
OUR LOCATION
Our company is located in João Pessoa, state of Paraiba, Northeast Coast of Brazil, easternmost city in the Americas, where the sun rises first. It has a tropical climate with high temperatures all year round. The Northeast Brazil is a land of sunny beaches, warm green seas, ancient colonial towns, vibrating music, street parties and friendly people. The fascinating rich cultural mix of this region is a unique part of Brazilian culture.
